Terms of Use

These Terms govern your use of Donezo. They cover what you are buying (a plan membership, not a software licence), how the founding promise works, your rights as a consumer in the EU, and the rules that protect both you and us.

Sequence Theory · Commelinstraat 198, 1093 VD Amsterdam, Netherlands · KvK 72222204 · BTW NL002512044B49 · Governing law: Kingdom of the Netherlands

1. Who we are

Donezo is an operation space of browser-native tools built and operated by Sequence Theory, a sole proprietorship registered in Amsterdam, Netherlands. When these Terms say "we," "us," or "Donezo," they mean Sequence Theory.

2. Who these Terms apply to

These Terms apply to everyone who uses any Donezo product, paid or free, with or without an account.

By opening or using any Donezo app, including free apps that require no login, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the product.

For paid purchases, you will be asked to confirm acceptance explicitly at checkout. For free apps, acceptance occurs when you first use the app. A notice to this effect is displayed at first launch.

3. What you are buying

When you buy Donezo Connected, you are buying a plan membership: a personal place in the Connected plan for as long as that plan exists. You are not buying the software, a copy of it, or a licence to the code. The apps, the code, the designs, the templates and the way Donezo works stay the property of Sequence Theory; membership is what lets you use them.

Your membership is:

  • Personal. For your own use, in your own work and in work you do for your clients (see Section 13)
  • Non-transferable. You may not sell, gift, share or assign it
  • Lifetime. Paid once, and valid for as long as the Connected plan exists (see Section 8). There is no renewal
  • Three devices. Active on three of your own devices: your phone, your laptop and your tablet

4. Plans and pricing

All prices are in euros and exclude VAT. VAT is applied at checkout based on your country of residence.

PlanPrice (excl. VAT)What it includes
Donezo Connected · Early Access€99 onceEvery app, cross-app connection, your own cloud, bring-your-own AI, sealed files, on three devices. The first 2,000 seats. Price locked for those buyers.
Donezo Connected€349 onceThe regular price once the early access seats are gone.

Regular prices may change. The regular price may change as Donezo adds apps and features. The early access price is locked for those buyers regardless of later price changes (see Section 5). An invitation code may grant a different price; in every case, the price shown at checkout at the moment of purchase is the price that applies.

The free apps (Can, Docs, Grid and Make) are free, without an account, and are not part of any purchase. Team features are in development and are not sold at this time.

Referrals. Connected members may receive a referral reward for purchases they refer: €20 per referred purchase during the early access period and €100 thereafter. A referral counts when the referred person completes a purchase through your referral and does not exercise their right of withdrawal or receive a refund. Rewards are paid by bank transfer, in euro, to an account in your name; to pay you we need the account holder name and IBAN, handled as described in the Privacy Policy. Rewards are paid in batches after the withdrawal period of the referred purchase has passed. Self-referral, referring with the same payment method or device, or any arrangement that exists only to earn the reward is not a referral, and rewards obtained that way are forfeited. Rewards may be taxable income for you; that is your responsibility, and where Dutch law requires us to report or withhold, we will. The conditions shown where the referral is offered inside Donezo form part of this clause.

5. The founding promise

Early access buyers have their price locked. This is a contractual commitment, not a promotion. Early access is capped at 2,000 seats.

What the founding promise covers

  • Your price does not increase
  • Bug fixes and UX improvements to your plan's apps are provided at no cost
  • The free apps (Can, Docs, Grid, Make and future free releases) stay free
  • Improvements to what your plan unlocks are provided at no cost

What the founding promise does not cover

Future premium features or entirely new premium product tiers introduced after your purchase date. If these are offered, they will be optional add-ons. Nothing you already have will be removed or paywalled. Updates to the free apps are provided at no cost.

6. Free apps

Can, Docs, Grid and Make are free. They require no account, no login, and no payment. These Terms still apply to anyone who uses them (see Section 2).

Updates to the free apps, including new features, are provided at no cost to anyone, regardless of plan.

7. Active development, and your responsibility for your work

Donezo is in active development. Apps, features and behaviour change as we build, and a feature that works one way today may work differently next week. We publish updates continuously and do not guarantee that any feature will remain unchanged.

Your work lives in your browser and on your device, not with us. Everything you make in a Donezo app is written to your browser's own storage on your device. If you connect a folder, what you make starts saving into that folder as ordinary files. Sequence Theory has no access to any of it and cannot see, recover or restore it.

The vault is a synchronisation layer, not a copy of your files. The vault holds the references and state that let the apps find and connect the files you add or create in Donezo. It does not hold the documents and files themselves.

Because of this, you are responsible for your own work:

  • Check regularly that what you make is saving where you expect, in your connected folder or by exporting
  • Export your work at any moment; every app can export in a few clicks, and the vault can be exported as a whole
  • Keep your own backups, in your folder, your drive or anywhere else you choose
  • Do not treat browser storage as a backup: clearing the browser, losing the device or a storage failure removes it

Sequence Theory is not liable for any loss of files, documents, data or work, however it occurs. No claim for lost work can be brought against Sequence Theory, because the work is held entirely in your browser and on your devices and we have no access to it (see Section 18).

8. Lifetime access

"Lifetime" means the lifetime of the plan. Your membership lasts for as long as Sequence Theory operates the Connected plan. It is not tied to your own lifetime and it is not a fixed number of years.

Sequence Theory commits to:

  • Keeping the plan available for as long as it is commercially viable to operate
  • Giving a minimum of 90 days' notice before discontinuing the plan
  • Not removing your access without prior notice and a transition period in which you can export everything

Because your work lives on your own devices and in your own cloud, the end of the plan would end the apps, not your files (see Section 7).

9. No right of withdrawal

Under EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), consumers have a 14-day right to withdraw from distance contracts. For digital content not on a physical medium, this right may be waived when you explicitly consent to immediate delivery and acknowledge the right is lost once delivery begins.

At checkout you will be required to confirm:

By clicking Purchase, I consent to immediate access to the digital content and acknowledge that I waive my 14-day right of withdrawal under EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), Article 16(m).

This waiver is legally valid once confirmed.

10. No refunds

Donezo does not offer refunds because:

  • All apps are available to try free before purchase, without an account
  • The full product experience is demonstrated before any payment is requested
  • Digital content is delivered immediately upon purchase and cannot be returned
  • You have explicitly waived the right of withdrawal at checkout

If you believe you were charged in error, contact omar@donezo.space within 7 days.

11. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. Card details go to Stripe and are not stored by Sequence Theory. Transaction records are retained for 7 years under Dutch fiscal law (AWR Art. 52).

12. Progressive Web App (PWA) installation

Donezo apps can be installed as Progressive Web Apps on desktop and mobile. When you install a Donezo app:

  • The app shell and assets are cached locally on your device by your browser
  • Your vault data is stored locally as part of the browser's storage (see Section 15)
  • The app works fully offline after first installation
  • Uninstalling the PWA removes the app shell from your device but does not automatically delete your vault. Vault data persists in browser storage until you explicitly clear it or use the vault export and clear function

Installation is optional. All Donezo apps work in a standard browser tab without installation.

13. What you may do

Your membership permits you to:

  • Use every app in the plan for personal and professional purposes
  • Create, edit, store and export your own work; everything you make is yours (see Section 17)
  • Use Donezo in your own projects and in projects you deliver for your clients, and hand those clients the documents, sheets, pages and tools you made for them
  • Connect your own cloud account (Google Drive today; further providers as they are added) and your own AI provider
  • Free apps (Can, Docs, Grid, Make): use on unlimited devices, no membership required
  • Donezo Connected: use on up to three of your own devices, for example your phone, your laptop and your tablet

14. What you may not do

Your membership does not permit:

  • Using Donezo, its templates, its designs or its methods to build, copy or assist a competing product
  • Selling, licensing or distributing Donezo templates, design systems, components or workflows, as they are or lightly changed, on marketplaces or anywhere else. What you make with them for your own work or a client's is yours; the building blocks themselves are not for resale
  • Sharing your membership, or letting others use Donezo through your devices as if it were theirs
  • Redistributing, reselling or white-labelling Donezo or any part of it
  • Reverse-engineering, decompiling or extracting the software
  • Circumventing any access control or plan verification mechanism
  • Attempting to access another user's data or any system beyond your authorisation
  • Using Donezo for any unlawful purpose

15. Your vault and your data

Your vault is yours. Sequence Theory does not read, access, process, or store any vault content under any circumstances.

All vault data is stored in your browser's localStorage and IndexedDB on your own device. If you connect a cloud account, your vault syncs directly from your browser to your own cloud storage. Sequence Theory does not act as an intermediary.

See the Privacy Policy for full details on Donezo's three-tier data architecture (local browser → your Google Drive → Control Lab), how vault encryption works on each plan, and which Google Drive scope is requested.

You are solely responsible for

  • Exporting and backing up your vault regularly
  • Ensuring vault data is not lost due to browser clearing, device loss, or storage failure
  • The security of your cloud account if you enable cloud sync

Sequence Theory cannot recover vault data. We do not hold copies. This is by design.

Local device folder access

A Donezo app may request permission to access a folder on your local device through the browser's File System API. This access is entirely local. It does not connect to any Donezo server. It is used only to read and organise your local files within the app. You grant and revoke this permission through your browser at any time.

15a. Sealed files

On the Connected plan you can seal a file. Sealing encrypts a copy of the file on your device, using AES-GCM, with a key derived either from a passphrase the app generates or from the vault key of the person you are sealing it to. The original file is not changed.

  • The key is created and used in your browser. Sequence Theory does not receive the key, the passphrase, or the file, and cannot open a sealed file.
  • There is no recovery route. If the passphrase is lost, or the recipient's vault key is lost, the sealed copy cannot be opened by anyone, including us. Keep the original, which sealing leaves untouched.
  • Opening a file sealed with a passphrase does not require an account or a plan. Opening a file sealed to a vault key requires the Connected plan on the recipient's device.
  • Donezo keeps a record on your device of what you sealed and for whom. That record is not transmitted to Sequence Theory.

You are responsible for choosing what to seal, for keeping the passphrase safe, and for confirming the recipient before you send.

16. AI features

Donezo's AI features work on a bring-your-own-AI basis. You provide your own API key to your chosen AI provider. That key is stored encrypted in your local vault using AES-256. Sequence Theory never receives it.

When you run an AI task, content travels directly from your browser to your chosen AI provider. Sequence Theory does not receive, proxy, or store the content of that exchange. You are responsible for complying with your AI provider's terms.

All AI-generated outputs are labelled as AI-generated in the interface. AI outputs are suggestions and can be wrong; review them before you rely on them. Nothing is applied to your data without your explicit approval. Some providers embed provenance signals in the text their models produce; your provider's terms govern that.

16a. Support

Support is provided to Donezo Connected buyers. It comes in two forms: the help panel inside each app, which answers from a published set of questions and lets you ask, and email to omar@donezo.space for licence and payment matters. The in-app assistant runs on your own AI key; without a key, the panel still shows the published answers.

Free use of Can, Docs, Grid and Make comes without support. The apps are offered as they are, and the help panel's published answers are available to everyone.

17. Intellectual property

Ours. All code, design, brand identity, product names, templates, design systems, components, workflows and methodology are the intellectual property of Sequence Theory. "Donezo" and "Sequence Theory" are trade names. Membership grants use, not ownership, and does not permit the uses excluded in Section 14.

Yours. The work you create with Donezo, such as documents, sheets, pages, tools and the content in them, is yours. Sequence Theory claims no rights over it. You may use it, publish it, sell it and give it to your clients. The one line is this: the output is yours; the building blocks it was made with are not for resale or for building a competitor.

18. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Dutch law:

  • Sequence Theory is not liable for loss of files, documents, vault data or any work created in Donezo. We do not hold it and cannot recover it (see Section 7)
  • Sequence Theory is not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses
  • Total liability is capped at the amount you paid for your membership. For free app users, total liability is capped at €0.
  • Sequence Theory is not liable for the performance, availability, or data practices of third-party services you connect

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under Dutch law.

19. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your membership if you breach these Terms, in particular Section 14. We will provide notice before terminating unless the breach involves key sharing, redistribution, or circumvention of access controls, in which case termination may be immediate.

20. Changes to these Terms

Material changes will be communicated by email (for members) with the effective date updated at donezo.space/terms. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

21. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Amsterdam.

EU consumers retain the right to bring proceedings in their country of residence and to benefit from mandatory local consumer protections. The EU Online Dispute Resolution platform is available at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
