1. The short version
Donezo is built so that we cannot see your content. Your files, notes, and documents stay in your browser. We protect your privacy by structure, not by policy.
- We never receive your documents, files, or content.
- We do not sell data. We do not run ads.
- The only data we keep is what we need to give you a licence.
2. Who we are
Donezo is published by Sequence Theory, a company registered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Sequence Theory is the data controller for any information you give us when you buy or use the website.
Contact for privacy questions: privacy@donezo.space.
3. What stays on your device
Everything you create or open inside a Donezo app, including:
- your documents, notes, drafts, and files;
- your tags, labels, statuses, and project structure;
- your AI key (if you bring your own);
- the contents of your vault and any local backups.
This data lives in your browser’s local storage and never reaches our servers.
4. What we collect
We collect the minimum amount of personal data needed to run the business:
- Email address when you buy a licence or join a waitlist.
- Payment metadata when you pay, processed by our payment provider. We do not store your card number.
- Licence key and plan tied to your email address.
- Anonymous product signals such as feature opens and exports, never the content of what you opened or exported.
5. AI and your content
If you connect an AI key inside a Donezo app, your request goes from your browser straight to the AI provider you chose. Donezo does not see, log, or relay the content of those calls.
You decide which files or which parts of your vault the AI can access. The default is none.
6. Cookies and tracking
The Donezo website uses one essential cookie to remember the access word for the private preview gate. Once we open to the public, this cookie will be removed.
We do not use third-party tracking cookies, ad pixels, fingerprinting, or session replay tools.
7. Sharing data
We share data only with the providers we need to run the service:
- Payment provider to process purchases.
- Email provider to send licence keys and product updates.
- Hosting provider to serve the website.
Each of these acts as a data processor under our instructions. We do not sell your data to anyone.
8. Where data is stored
Personal data we store about you is held inside the EU on servers located in the Netherlands or Germany. Some processors may transfer data to other regions under approved EU mechanisms.
9. How long we keep it
We keep your email and licence record for as long as your licence is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete personal data within 30 days, except records we are legally required to keep for tax or accounting purposes.
10. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- see what data we hold about you;
- correct it;
- ask us to delete it;
- export it in a portable format;
- complain to the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
To exercise any of these, write to privacy@donezo.space.
11. Children
Donezo is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under that age.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change anything material we will notify founding members by email and post a notice on the landing page. The date at the top of this page tells you when it last changed.
