About Donezo

How Donezo
came to be.

Our Story

When starting is hard, nothing gets done. It all started here.

I was in Amsterdam building an app for my framework, one that helps founders understand market problems and build better solutions. While trying to build it, I noticed something I couldn't unsee.

Friction. Everywhere. Monthly charges, scattered data, privacy that exists only on paper, tools that demand your dependency before they let you work. The more I looked, the more I realized these weren't separate problems. They were symptoms. Complexity exists because of architecture decisions at every step, from the business model to the user interface. And it all adds friction.

This is where Donezo was born. A brand that says no to friction in every aspect. No cookies. No login. No server running your data. No onboarding needed to use the app. No scattered data. Everything runs local and on the user's terms.

I didn't plan Donezo. I found it along the way. I started building tools that just worked. No setup, no account, no waiting. One turned into two. Two turned into a system. The system became Donezo, the first product of Sequence Theory, my company here in Amsterdam. The framework turned out to be the compass. It pointed here.

Omar Alhaj Ali, Founder

Build belief before demand is the core philosophy of my framework at Sequence Theory. It implies that you must build your own belief about the problem and the solution: for you, your team and your customer. I used it and found friction everywhere. Then I applied it all the way, and it pointed me at Donezo, built on local-first principles.

2025
Experiments

Experimenting with AI-native tools to build the app for my framework. I noticed the lock-in, shifted to local software, then ditched the cloud entirely and built local tools for myself first. They worked.

2026
Donezo foundation

Found Donezo after connecting data together worked: one vault under the tools, everything local, backed up to my own Drive. The brand grew from the small apps I had built, and from the architecture decisions made all the way because of that realization.

Donezo OS + AI

Building tools on one shared vault, with AI working on the same data beside you. One system instead of a maze of apps and API calls. And this came with some really cool discoveries: a structured company brain through the DZ vault, agents and workflows.

The complete architecture

Connected tools and data. Smart sheets: templates that talk to each other inside Docs. Connective tissue: one sheet that gathers every CSV and XLS file into a single view, managed with one master tool, and you can make your own interface with Guardian. My data stopped living in an app and the app started living on top of my data. Sealed files were also discovered on the way.

Launch

Beginning of Q4: polish, and distribute the system. Everything the framework pointed at, complete and in people's hands. Testing, polishing, revising and updating as we go. Join the ride!

What we believe.

Most software connects your work by owning it. Accounts, subscriptions, lock-in, data trade-offs. The more tools you use, the more scattered your data, the more you pay, the more fragile your system.

This exists because productivity software was built for enterprises. We solve it differently.

Donezo is an operation space that leaves the work with you. Apps work instantly. Data stays in one private Vault. Cloud and AI are optional. Your membership gives you the tools; what you make with them stays yours, in open formats, on your machine.

Every app follows the same standard.

An architecture decision, made once, kept in every app.

Data
Stays on your device. Cloud backup is optional and encrypted.
Speed
Every app opens instantly. No spinners. No skeleton screens.
Offline
Works without WiFi. The internet is optional. Your work is not.
AI
Runs on your own API key. Prompts go from your browser to your provider and never pass through us.
Pricing
Pay once for the membership. No subscriptions, and app updates are included. What you make is yours in open formats, with or without it.
Security
No third-party scripts. No trackers. Nothing runs that you didn't ask for.

Small team. Big conviction.

Sequence Theory built Donezo from the ground up. Noord Tech is our development partner. Together we are building new apps that ship soon, and new layers of the local-first architecture Donezo runs on.
